The Norwich Union shine:awards is a flagship development of UK Athletics, which reflects its vision - 'fun to fulfilment'.

The Norwich Union shine:awards provide opportunities for children from the age of three and upwards to try athletics through fun physical challenges and rewards them for their efforts. They promote an incentive to learn and to develop individual athletic skill through four different levels of activity.

Currently the Induction group are working on Level 2 - Participation

The Level 2 Awards' focus aim to 'participation', and provide an awards structure for 7 to 12-year-olds. To encourage the participation of all children at this Level it is sufficient that the child has tried and completed the activities to achieve a reward.

The child can receive a sticker for every five activities completed, up to a maximum of 6 stickers. These stickers can be collected on a Record of Achievement card. Each set of 5 activities may be from any of the following sections: Jumping, Combinations, Running, Throwing or Fitness and Fun.

All of the activities at Level 2 have performance targets.
